Dog Friendly Beaches in Purbeck Area
The following beaches/areas welcome dogs all year round
- Durdle Door
- Kimmeridge
- Lulworth Cove
- Man O’War Cove
- Worbarrow Bay
Studland – Dogs are welcome on the beaches all year round, however they must be kept on a short 2 metre lead at all times between 1 May – 30 September
Swanage – Dogs are not allowed on Swanage Beach at all between 1 May – 30 September, however you are welcome to use Monkey Beach which is located by the old stone quay, close to the pier. Alternatively, head a little further north to Shep’s Hollow and your dog can explore without restrictions all year round.
Dog Friendly Beaches in Bridport Area
Burton Bradstock – No dogs are allowed between 1 May – 30 September, except on East Beach. Dogs are, however, allowed on Cogden Beach all year.
Eype Beach – Dogs are welcome all year round
Seatown – No dogs are allowed on this beach at any time
West Bay – No dogs allowed between 1 May – 1 October except in the port area where they must stay on a lead.
Dog Friendly Beaches in Weymouth and Portland Area
Dogs are welcome at the following beaches/areas all year round
- Chesil Bank & Fleet Lagoon Nature Reserve, Abbotsbury
- Bowleaze Cove
- Church Ope Cove, Portland
- Ringstead
- West Bexington (within a restricted area)
Weymouth – No dogs are allowed on the main beach between Good Friday and 31 October. Dogs permitted all year round within an allocated dog exercise area at the Pavilion end of the beach only.
